After 80+ years of useful life, the current lake building will be getting a face lift. The eye sore of a building with rusty window frames, a leaky roof, no heat and deteriorating utilities is going to be undergoing some renovation to get us ready for the next 50-100 years. We have made a short video clip of the existing building to show you our space and constraints.
The lake itself has been improving over the last 40 years going from a Eutrophic state to a Mesotrophic state. What that means is going from basically unhealthy to healthy. Google the meanings. This is very difficult to achieve and we are very proud of it. Pewaukee will always have a lot of aquatic vegetation as it is basically a flooded swamp with very fertile soils in the bays of the West basin and the entire east end. Due to the heavy vegetation we will always need a large maintenance program. Our equipment has doubled as well as our staff over the years. If we keep working hard the lake will continue to improve, the values of your homes will increase and so will the quality of life in the lake country area. It is our mission statement to preserve, protect and enhance Pewaukee lake, its streams and the watershed.
